ProPac, Inc: 34 Years in Business

Wednesday March 1, 2023

ProPac celebrates 34 years of supplying disaster preparedness and response equipment across the U.S. and around the world. On March 1st, 1989, Gordon King founded ProPac, Inc. in Charleston, South Carolina where Hurricane Hugo hit just 6 months later. Since then, ProPac has grown to become a leader in the disaster preparedness industry.

In the summer of 1993, ProPac created one of the first known “Disaster Preparedness Starter Kits” for the American Red Cross in Miami. Little did we know it would later become one of the most popular items in our inventory. A picture of the kits being handed out was printed on the front page of the Miami Herald and became one of ProPac’s first mentions in local news.

Since then, ProPac has done business with many organizations including FEMA, American Red Cross, US State Department, State and Local Governments, Public Health Departments, Cities, Fire Departments, SAR Teams, Community Emergency Response Teams, Medical Reserve Corps, The Salvation Army, many other NGO’s, Fortune 500 Companies, schools and universities. Our motto has always been "Know Us Before You Need Us" and it is well-known throughout the disaster preparedness community.

Responsiveness and short turnaround time on orders enables rapid response to our customer needs, those who dedicate their missions, principles and lives to helping people in the most desperate and catastrophic times. We are honored to assist, supply and serve in fulfilling a mutually successful goal of aiding those in need. We strive to continue standing side-by-side with you for many years to come.

ProPac ships domestically and internationally.
