I-95 Shut Down

In January 2022, part of I-95 in Virginia was shut down, leaving drivers stranded and stuck in their cars.

According to InsideNoVa, for more than 30 hours, drivers using the interstate in Virginia were stranded in their cars after a winter snowstorm caused traffic accidents.

With very limited access to food, water, and restrooms, individuals and families were left to their own devices without knowing when they would make it to their destinations.

The incident shed light on the importance of having emergency management plans and communication channels in place to benefit citizens in need.

Traffic Fatalities

According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, there were 42,939 traffic-related deaths in 2021. Always being aware of your surroundings while driving and following the rules of the road can make a difference while behind the wheel.

·      Refrain from cell phone use.
