  1. 4 out of 5

We have 3 of these packs for our CERT First Aid Support Team (FAST). These bags will hold everything you or your team will need for providing First Aid (or medical care) in most instances even small MCIs. The outside zippered pouch is convenient for holding supplies for immediate STB, airway, and equipment. In the upper pouch, we have PPE (mask, gloves, and disposable glasses), a pair of trauma shears, a light, pen, and a small notebook. In the lower pouch, we have two CAT tourniquets, Quik-Clot, (10) 4X4s, NPAs, OPAs, and a CPR Mask. The inside has allowed us to organize our supplies into orthopedic injuries (SAMs, elastic wrap, plastic zip storage bags for ice), minor injuries (adhesive bandages 1″, 3″, and joint). Additional inside components include 4X4s, 2x2s, 4″ and 2″ gauze bandages, 4″ fluffy (some call Kling(r)), tape. In line with current 2020 First Aid recommendations, we also carry aspirin, glucose, and naxalone. We use the outside verticle attached pockets for our radio and the other for a water bottle/snacks. As one can see from the above there is plenty of space for supplies. We’ve used this pack for running events, biking events, and medical standby at other events and it has met all of our needs.
Improvements? A water bladder pocket, padding on the back of the pack making it more “breathable” on one’s back, wider & better-padded shoulder straps with wider webbing connecting them to the bag, a wider and padded waist strap, and a chest strap/buckle.
Overall the bag is one of the best layouts for medical supplies available and well worth the price.
