ProPac Mobile Vaccination Centers Make Vaccines More Accessible
Wednesday March 24, 2021
Finding a vaccination center close to home could be one of the challenges people face when they become eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine. ProPac is collaborating with emergency medical services and public health agencies to help states, territories, local governments and tribal governments overcome these obstacles, so that anyone who wants to get vaccinated can. One way ProPac is doing this is by supplying many of the aforementioned agencies, mobile Immunization Trailer and Drive-Thru Vaccination Systems.
Local public health clinics, health care providers, pharmacies, community and faith-based groups, employers, private sector vaccinators and federal agencies can all help to set up mobile and pop-up centers everywhere. Mobile centers are those found inside a trailer that can be moved from one place to another. Other centers are portable structures that can be set up and dismantled in any location, often with the help of local resources and expertise.
These mobile and pop-up sites bring vaccine clinics closer to the people and neighborhoods that need them. They meet people where they work, live, and socialize. They overcome the obstacles that keep people from getting vaccinated, like:
• Distance to travel
• Restricted access to medical practitioners and vaccination clinics
• Scarcity of public transit
• Difficulties with mobility
• Schedules for work and family care
• Awareness of vaccine efficacy
These issues are eliminated by mobile centers, which go into hard-to-reach areas and target particular populations such as high-risk groups, critical employees, and rural areas.
Two-Lane Vaccination Drive-Thru Structure
ProPac, in collaboration with federal, state and local partners, continue to support these vaccination campaigns and activities with equipment and supplies including trailers, mobile drive-through systems and PPE for those serving their communities against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Drive-through systems are also ideal for emergency point-of-distribution after natural disasters. Efficiently and effectively distribute food, water, blankets and linens and other items after hurricane, tornado, earthquake or other catastrophic event.
